Patrick and his son Siegfried found some green wallpaper with hexagones.
It triggered the idea to use them to go a bit back to the Battlecry system and mix with our About Bonaparte system. They have already played a number of test games.
We played a game 2 vs 2 with Patrick and me(Dirk) on the British side, Steven and Siegfried as Americans.
The scenery was very good, en apart from some remarks on the rule it was a fun afternoon, after those dark months of waiting for better times.
The game was a close call, and nobody was certain about who had won the game, but after all, we were all winners.
The game looks very good and it sounds like an enjoyable game.
ReplyDeleteIts been quite a few years since I last played a modified BattleCry Zulu or Afghan game on hexes.
The game looks awesome! Can you share a little more about how you merged Battle Cry with About Bonaparte. I assume you used the card activation from Battle Cry. I find that after discovering plastic Airfix miniatures when I was 12 years old, I have fallen in love with them all over again! After the challenges of collecting armies in 54mm, it is so refreshing to be see the wide variety of 1/72 plastics that are available, with more every month.
ReplyDeleteHi Nick, no activation cards were used. Even not the dicing for orders from About Bonaparte. Just keeping officers within 3 hexes was enough to command units. As said, it is for patrick and Siegfried testing out many thinks, as the hexes are to small for 8 figures (units of 4 or 5 figures. and dice per figure for firing and combat), units are a bit to fast eliminated.
