I would like to make another suggestion for the next game. Position the bridge not in the center of the table more to one side, and the road also near the corner of the long edge. That way, the Russians will have a broad front from the other long edge (starting close to the opposite corner of the road enterance) , the French position will be more desperate. It will give both sides room to maneuver with greater playability.
Thanks, Dirk! Another great suggestion. So, turn the game so that it plays diagonally, putting the opposing sides closer to each other and making the area the French have to defend wider, making it more difficult to guard their flanks. Awesome!
Indeed Nick. The broader front will give the surprise attack feeling...panic for the French. Predator feeling for the Russian player. But your setting is really marvelous.
