Another AWI Game in 54mm

Must be the season for AWI games. I played a skirmish game using Muskets and Tomahawks based on the fight at Concord's North Bridge. I plan to try About Bonaparte for my larger AWI battles.

  2. Great looking figures, do you paint them yourself?

  3. I paint one in ten. For someone with a degree in art, I am world's slowest painter.

  4. Tim, I like it for skirmish games. It works best with no more than 100 figures per side. IMO, it works best when you field a range of the types of units of the period. Units can be Regulars, Irregulars (includes light infantry), Provincials, Militia, Indians, etc. Activation is by cards assigned to each type of unit, some types getting more cards, Regulars getting two activations, so they can fire and reload on the same card, so it really mixes things up. After playing Rebels and Patriots and The Men Who Would Be Kings, where you have to make a dice roll to see if your unit activates, it's a relief to just be able to move your unit as you please when its cards come up. There is a 2nd edition coming out this month and I am anxious to see whether or not it improves what I believe is not broken.
